What is electrical engineering?

What is electrical engineering? This question is asked several times in a day. I also asked the same question to find an answer with Google Search. The answers I got were astonishing. The first answer came from Wikipedia the online encyclopaedia. The answer to the question What is electrical engineering? The answer was Electrical engineering is a field of engineering that generally deals with the study and application of electricity, electronics and electromagnetism. The question was answered by Xtreme like Electrical engineering is concerned with the basic forms of energy that run our world. Even the YouTube provided an answer - What is Electrical Engineering? Students at Iowa State tell you what electrical engineering means to them. Other answers I find to the question is also listed below:

  • · Electrical Engineers apply electronic and electromagnetic/optical design principles to design, build, and test analogue or digital devices, circuits, and systems!
  • · Electrical engineering is concerned with research, design, development, manufacture, installation, operation, maintenance...
  • · Electric engineers are the professionals that deal with the study and application of electricity, electronics and electromagnetism.
  • · Electrical engineers perform jobs such as developing new ways of making microchips, designing communications systems, using lasers and ...

Aluminum Conductor Composite Reinforced (ACCR)

Aluminum Conductor Composite Reinforced (ACCR) is a rather new comer to towerline power transmission technology. ACCR can deliver 2 to 3 times the capacity without the risks and delays of major construction projects. On time, in budget, back toACCR service – with proven reliability. Aluminum Conductor Composite Reinforced (ACCR) is overhead transmission conductor like ACSR and ACSS, with higher ampere capacity with less thermal expansion (sag). ACCR can carry two or more times the current of a standard conductor of comparable diameter. It has less weight and sag, but the same strength and can be installed to meet your tension and clearance requirements. This allows you to maximize the capacity of your transmission upgrade using existing structures and rights of way. Compared to a rebuild project, you can get your upgrade done faster and with fewer permitting requirements. ACCR can be used any place standard ACSR conductor. ACCR's core is aluminum-based, rather than steel, it is more conductive than steel core conductors, resulting in lower losses under the same operating conditions. In addition, 3M ACCR comes in a trapezoidal wire design that can improve conductivity up to 28% compared to the same size, round wire ACSR. ACCR Conductors cost around 4 times of the standard conductors. See how easy ACCR is to install by viewing the Installation videos. Electrical System Protection

Electrical System Protection is a very important field of study. Most of the design engineers find it difficult to Electrical Protection System protect their equipments from voltage surges, power breakers, fluctuations etc. There are several standard projections used for electrical power systems. The basic protection systems are Overload Protection, Under voltage Protection, Overvoltage Protection, Phase Failure Protection, Phase Sequence Reversal Protection. The first one that is Overload or over current protection is sufficient for majority or equipments. A simple schematic is given in the figure. This is a basic circuit that trigger an opening solenoid and protect the system from overloads. Now you take any circuit around you and make a schematic of the same. Your schematic will look very same as this figure!

How to Clean Install Windows 7

How to Clean Install Windows 7 is provided for Electrical Engineers who want to try the latest Operating System from Microsoft. Not only the Electrical Engineers, but other engineers also need this latest operating system. Learn it now before your friends master this gadget.

Windows 7 is there. The first remarks indicate that this operating system is going to stay there for time. You have to install it onWindows-7 your personal computer or laptop very soon. I am here to explain the two valuable resources available for you to install Windows 7 on your computer. These two online tutorials will show you how to do a clean installation with a retail Windows 7. An OEM Windows 7 that comes with your system may show a few different screens than explained here. These two guides are for Windows 7 Ultimate edition and it may help you to install Windows 7 Professional or Windows 7 Home Premium.

The first guide is from About.com. It has a 34 steps plan to install your Windows 7. The steps and screen shots shown in these 34 steps refer specifically to Windows 7 Ultimate edition but will also serve perfectly well as a guide to reinstalling any Windows 7 edition you may have including Windows 7 Professional or Windows 7 Home Premium. It is explained in very simple English and with lot of screen shots. It is an easy walk through the complicated procedure. There are tips available, and external links provided for complicated issues. Read this at Clean Install Windows 7.

The second tutorial is from www.sevenforums.com. The article starts like the reason for installing clean – if you have a computer with no operating system installed, you do NOT want to preserve your data, programs, or system drivers, you want to delete your current operating system and replace it with Windows 7 and you want to create a multi boot system by installing Windows 7 on a separate hard disk partition. The auther made the article very useful and simple. With lot of tips and tricks you can make the best out of your Windows 7. You can try this at Windows 7 - Clean Install Windows 7

WIKI-Electrical Installation Guide (EIG) is on-line!

WIKI-Electrical Installation Guide (EIG) is on-line! A happy news for the students and professionals in Electrical Engineering. Enjoy the WIKI-EIG is on-line!

The Electrical Installation Guide (EIG) was an exclusive Schneider-Electric
publication distributed through printing and internet. From the end of last year Electrical Installation Guide (EIG) become open. Now the Wiki-
Electrical Installation Guide (EIG) allow all external contribution for
improvement and update. This is a major evolution towards neutral knowledge and exchange. The management rules as well as legal ones are coming directly from Wikipedia operation. The idea is to promote technical cooperation between concerned experts from all countries. New articles, new topics, corrections, complements are welcome as long as it fits inside the general field and the consensus between registered contributors is obtained. So far the spirit of the guide was to bring practical information for Electrical Designers based on the latest IEC standards and the energy efficiency trend. We hope that this collaborative experience be a success. You can even download the chapters in PDF format.
